Rob’s Gig Guide: 19th – 25th August 2013

An early lull at the start of this coming week gives way to a flurry of awesome live shows that will sadly require some intricate picking and choosing. To save you the time and since I’m so kind I’ve chosen three for you, all you need to do is attend!

Part Time Pilots – Bar Sub, Belfast – Wednesday 14th May April 2014

The boisterous lads from Part Time Pilots have put together a brand new album, ‘Tally Ho Amigo’ and are taking over Bar Sub to launch it. They are joined by some up and coming rockers in the form of Petty Youth and also Down to Level.

Admission is £3 on the door

Old Fang Launch Party – The Menagerie, Belfast – Thursday 15th May 2014

Despite a lot of unknowns we’re terribly excited by the prospect of Old Fang; essentially a brand new label/brand from the well respected Thomas Camblin. Not many projects have been confirmed yet but expect further details to be announced on the night, alongside a rip roaring performances from More Than Conquerors.

Tickets are £7 from the Old Fang bandcamp page

Smoking Tongue – The Empire, Belfast – Friday 16th May 2014

Lisburn rockers Smoking Tongue released their latest EP early in 2014 and are now set to headline the next SO:NI event in the Empire. Their companions on the night include Guinness Versus winners Arkham Dispatch, the Kickstart shortlisted Plague Artists and brand new band Surfhouse.

Entry is £5.
