After a week of relaxing on sunnier shores, I’m actually quite glad to be back on home turf. The reason you might ask, well it’s another week of great local live music.
Patrick Gardiner – Sunflower Public House, Belfast – Tuesday 10th June 2014
Young Patrick impressed many with his debut EP and the relatable single ‘He’s Not Right For You’ way back in 2012. He’s been fairly quiet of late so it’s nice to see him back on the circuit and hopefully with some new material to boot. Support comes from the equally talented Rory Nellis.
Admission is £4 on the door
Gascan Ruckus – Bar Sub, Belfast – Saturday 14th June 2014
The first headline show for over a year from the Gascan Ruckus lads should be at the top of your list this week. They’ll be showcasing songs from their forthcoming debut album which from the snippets we’ve heard so far, will be top notch. Support comes from two musicians going solo in Michael Mormecha (Mojo Fury) and Kris Platt (More Than Conquerors). On the night there will also be a photo exhibition with shots from the well respected and admired Ciara McMullan.
Tickets are £6 on the door
Breaking Bands #03 – Oh Yeah Music Centre, Belfast – Saturday 14th June 2014
The Breaking Band initiative goes from strength to strength with a particularly rock infused line-up for it’s 3rd installment. This month it features Lipstik Lizards, The Titanics, Hot Cops (one of the new Scratch my Progress bands) & Black Mono.
Entry is £3 on the door.
