Stream: Alice LA – 21st Century Woman

Rebecca Armstrong by Rebecca Armstrong

in Fresh Northern Irish Music
Alice LA

Undoubtedly her best track to date, the enigmatic Alice LA is back with ’21st Century Woman’.  Bursting with 80’s Scandi Pop vibes, this synth and beats track is a call for the embrace of  individuality, love and kindness against society’s copy-cat, competitive lifestyle.

An artist who never stops creating,  ’21st Century Woman’ is the most recent release.  With a back catalogue of upbeat, feel good tracks such as Mr Summer Solstice, Flowers & Flourentines and Kiss to These Riffs, Alice LA released her first album in 2020, “Sleeps Not Real” which hosts collaborations with NI Producers Arvo Party and LlamaRabbit.   A regular on the gig and festival scene, Alice LA  has performed at festivals across Ireland including Stendhal, Sunflower, and Output Festival, performed at a sold-out show in KOKO Camden as part of a Capital Xtra night, and has radio play and support from radio including BBC, Across The Line, Today FM, the Play Irish initiative from IASCA to name a few and appeared on I Lar an Aonaigh and BBC Sounds New .

With flawless vocals, 21st Century Woman’s bouncy opening vocals and opening lines “I don’t want to be like everyone else, cant you see all these copy cats?” and anthem like  chorus of “I don’t want to be 21st Century Woman” is the summer festival vibes we are craving after what seems like an eternity of a year.  The break down creates a magical escape, it giving the song  a beautifully placed breath before building to the point of the song lyrically “just love love love, let’s not collide” that what life is all about? A lesson we all can learn to live by.
