Kitt Philippa, hailing from County Armagh, has released the follow up to her last single ‘Human’, itself released back in June. This is ‘Grace’.
‘Grace’ is a gentle and meditative piece detailing the experience of intimacy with another person. Lyrics like “Undress my ego” and “Let me go but never leave my side” help the listener to identify with the story Philippa is telling. The idea of being humbled by the love from another person and the intense nature of its highs and lows.
The instrumentation is minimal with just guitar and gentle drum brush percussion as the song progresses. This creates the space for Philippa’s words to be pushed to the forefront. At the bridge of the track, the layered vocals act like a choir and this swell of production heightens emotion of the track.
‘Grace’ has us looking forward to the next project to follow 2013’s “Broken to be Rebuilt” to see the artist continue to grow.
