Maiden City earth shaker’s Triggerman return with a 3 track EP, kicking off with a reworked ‘Origin Of Man’. Propelled by a massive bass sound capable of crumbling Derry’s walls and a riff that just makes you want to find a sweaty rock club, some cold beer and await the following days guaranteed sore neck.
‘The Lazarushian’ is a slightly slower paced affair, but features the trademark Triggerman sound of gruff vocals, some truly stunning guitar work and a very capable rhythm section.
‘Valhalla’ wraps things up with some trademark stoner riffs and mention of “whiskey and beer”, standard. It’s a short, sharp EP that leaves the listener with thoughts of a bag of cans and a neck brace. No massive change in direction from the band, but why tinker with such a perfected formula at this stage?
