Volume Control Recruiting for 2014

Volume Control: Clash Of The New Breeds Line-up Announced

The Oh Yeah Centre in Belfast is easily one of the best resources Northern Irish musicians can avail of when trying to take the next step. However they are not just for musicians, they also offer young people the opportunity to develop their own talents and move into a career in the music industry.

Volume Control is an annual project which sees a team of 14-18 year olds work together to put on a series of local music events. Since their live shows are all ages, it gives young people here the opportunity to see local bands who would normally be playing licensed venues where you must be 18 to get in. Some of Northern Ireland’s biggest bands including Fighting With Wire, The Wonder Villains, Ash have all played their shows. We loved the team’s work so much that we let them write a monthly blog on the site called Teenage Kicks.

The Oh Yeah Centre are looking for their next batch of young people to get involved to form the 2014 class of Volume Control. So if you are aged between 14 and 18, a fan of local music and you are interested in event promotion, you should give it a go. Have a read at the class of 2013’s blog entries if you’re curious as to what the role entails.
