Who left BeeMickSee in a room alone with a knife and a heap of records? You know how he gets when he’s surrounded by vinyl!
The first video from Trans-Atlantic indie rap duo Malibu Shark Attack has come to surface and is for their latest track ‘Better Off As Friends’. The project is a musical collaboration between esteemed local producer Rocky O’Reilly (formerly Oppenheimer) and Tribe One (The Remnant) from Atlanta, Georgia.
The song is a chirpy synth-laden love letter to fans of their other musical projects which sympathises with their nostalgic musical grieving. But it eventually gives us a nudge to, erm, well, get over it! It’s almost romantic.
The video features Brendan Seamus (BeeMickSee/Bomb City 7) go all Physco-shower-scene on a collection of Oppenheimer CDs – a sight to make any muso’s toes curl – as well as almost two minutes straight of the Belfast rapper crying, screaming and eventually munching on chocolate & sweets. The three symptoms of any emotional break up.
‘Better Off As Friends’ is set for a St. Patrick’s Day release via No Dancing Records, with the track pencilled in as the opening number on an upcoming LP from the pair.
