A Plastic Rose – ‘This Side Of Winter’

A Plastic Rose – ‘This Side Of Winter’

No preamble from me (for a change), I flippin’  love this track. It has everything a good Indie Rock track should have. It has energy, it has a simple-but-effective guitar riff, it has the bounce-along sing-ability (yes, I am just making words up now), it has the tuneful-but-strident vocals. In short, it is Blur without Albarn’s horrible ‘Landen’ drawl.

A.P.R. have recently left the safety of Belfast for the ‘Gun Capital of England’, Nottingham. Brave lads indeed. All joking aside, you have to admire their conviction and determination to move their career forwards. ‘This Side of Winter’ has not been officially released yet (officially released on 8th October) but is already getting airplay in all the right places, including BBC Radio 1 only today. I can’t imagine any Indie-loving listener not being captivated by this song and busting at the seams to get it on their ipods sharpish.

‘This Side of Winter’ is available for pre-order at https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/this-side-of-winter-single/id699641720. So get on it people and make this side of Winter (see what I did there?) just that little bit better.
