The sibling duo of Eoin (Drums) and Rory Loveless (Guitar) are the noisemakers behind Drenge. From the Peak District they are all but claimed by their gigging home Sheffield. Mixing filthy riffs with a dash of blues and grunge, it’s some good old fashioned guitar music with indie-punk attitude .
The two-some are in the mould of the White Stripes/Black Keys, stripped of a bassist it’s a slugging guitar and crashing drums filling up the sound. It’s garage-rock with a focussed aggro at almost everything and everybody. In fact they might just be what Alex Turner and Josh Homme would wish their love-children to be like. Presumingly not fused on media hype or even releasing an album, it was typical that Radio 1’s Zane Lowe promptly made “Bloodsports” his Hottest Record In The World. The little that we do know about Drenge is that these boys love to play live music. Hopefully won’t be too long until they fall to temptation, record some more of their rackets and unleash it on our yearning ears.
