Belfast band Gnarkats have put some solid alt rock music in the past couple of years, with their ‘Waves Collide’ EP certainly containing plenty of praise worthy moments. Now, following up on last year’s ‘Something to Say’, the band, now streamlined down to a three-piece, have returned with new single ‘Enigma’.
The band have already proven their alt rock credentials, and ‘Enigma’ furthers the cause. A layered sound is evident with shifting guitars and some thudding bass combining in the verse before a Feeder-esque chorus kicks in with a sense of euphoria despite the declaration of “I’ve lost my mind, I’m falling apart again”. It’s another strong track from a band who have won over a few followers with their polished explorations of the alt rock genre and their live shows.
Gnarkats play McHugh’s, Belfast tonight in support of the new single.
