Sal Vitro - Carrie Davenport

Dublin based quartet Sal Vitro are due to release their forthcoming debut album ‘Cirque Du Sleaze’ later this year and as a taster we’ve been treated to this smasher of a single ‘The Gettin’ Older Casanova’ due to be released 7th March 2014.

The bluesy bass line intro will grasp your ears attention before Josh’s soulful vocal bursts in. He tells the story of a middle aged ‘has been’ who believes he is still a hit with the ladies – girls we’ve all been there with the odd creep attack at the bar- as everyone around him cringes with embarrassment secretly wishing he would just give up and act his age. The video depicts just this and makes an interesting watch, it stars the main actor from a show based in Co. Mayo called The Hardy Bucks – very funny indeed.  The funky guitar riffs and catchy, upbeat melodic chorus will stick in your head even after the first listen. The lyrics are extremely well written so you don’t have to wonder what the song is about and one can understand why such a catchy single is getting so much radio play across the border, leaving us very excited and intrigued to hear the full album later this year. The single is a fine example of proof the lads are masters of their craft and know exactly how they want to sound, and having seen their outstanding live performance they are definitely a band to watch out for in 2014.
