Watch: Brand New Friend – Girl

Brand New Friend Spectrum

With January now firmly in the rear view mirror, the new music and announcements are coming thick and fast. The latest comes everyone’s new favourites Brand New Friend. The North Coast/Belfast four piece have come a long way in a couple of years, with a Chordblossom Kickstart win setting them on their way to record deals, radio airplay, sold out shows, festivals and BBC’s Big Weekend without ever losing their boundless energy. Now the band are ready to hit 2018 hard with a new single and album announcement. Here’s ‘Girl’.

The new track sets off with frontman Taylor Johnson’s ode to just a girl and soon sets off into a frantic tempo. Combining a bouncy pace with the duel vocals of Johnson and sister Lauren, ‘Girl’ is a fitting way to announce their plans for the year. It encapsulates everything the band have built to date, with effortless pop-punk charm and a video, by HM Productions, displaying the band at home on stage, from their recent sold out Duke of York gig.
