Watch: Lavengro – Get Out

The latest single from up-and-coming Derry indie pop masters Lavengro is a pure slice of unbridled joy. Get Out has already picked up some very positive reviews and local airtime, most notably via ATL on Radio Ulster, with Gemma Bradley and Taylor Johnston singing it’s praises to anyone that wants to listen. It has also made the current Radio Ulster Music Matters playlist, guaranteeing some extra exposure for the band.

While the accompanying video opens with a potentially anxiety-inducing Zoom sign in screen, it is soon overtaken by hilarious Wombo ai-styled antics as various celebrities sing along to the band’s lyrics. In a similar vein, the soft and gentle electro intro soon gives way to a driving and up-tempo track crammed full of catchy vocal harmonies. The song may be about getting over lost love, but the overall effect is of a happy and uplifting number which doesn’t overstay it’s welcome.

This is a track full of mainstream pop sensibilities that would grace the airwaves of any local or national radio station. Catchy and melodic – a sure-fire summer hit if ever there was one.
