The Stars (Are Out Tonight) – Bowie’s Return

The Stars (Are Out Tonight) – Bowie’s Return

Never one for following protocol David Bowie used his birthday in early January to announce a new album, The New Day, seemingly from out of nowhere. This is his first studio album since 2003’s Reality. Along with that announcement came the release of the single, Where Are We Now?. The song and video recalls his Berlin days, quiet and introspective.

Now Bowie has released the second song of the album, The Stars (Are Out Tonight). Themed around the world of celebrity, filled with great guitar lines – Bowie is back. The video teams Bowie with the eerily similar Tilda Swinton along with two equally androgynous models who invade the couple’s life. Cavorting and weirdness abound – fans of androgyny rejoice.

With The New Day set for release 11th March, eager Bowie fans don’t have long to wait.
