The 2025 edition of the Northern Ireland Music Prize offered up another joyous and uplifting evening as the artists and industry professional came together to celebrate another incredible year for music.
The night belonged to RÓIS who walked away with both the Album of the Year and Live Act of the Year awards. Her unique blend of folk, sean-nós, electronics, and jazz harmony has captivated audiences across the country and marked her out as a must see artist.
It wouldn’t be an awards ceremony without live music and Esmerelda Road, George Houston, Junk Drawer, Becky McNeice, and California Irish delivered incredible sets while Duke Special, Nathan O’Regan, Jackie Rainey, and Dana Masters paid homage to the great Van Morrison.
California Irish picked up Single of the Year for ‘Julie Ann’, Dani Larkin picked up the PRS Creator of the Year Award, while Huartan earned BBC Introducing NI Artist of the Year. Derry’s indie folk darlings Polar Bolero received the Gerry Anderson Award, and Alan Simms was recognised under the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award for his 30 years of service to the live music scene.
