Releasing his first track under his new alias, Batesy aka Chris Bateman introduces us to his introspective heartfelt single ‘Honestly’.
The track is produced by Pete Wallace with artwork by Thomas Bannon.
Batesy’s raw and charming vocals lend a rare authenticity to this track, a trait often seen in more seasoned pros within his genre. With direct and honest lyricism not unlike bands such as The Fray, Walking on Cars and The Coronas; Batesy is certainly one to watch for 2022 & beyond.
A singer-songwriter & multi instrumentalist from Belfast, Batesy’s work is characterised by a combo of honest vocals with ambient guitar sounds. When it comes to his catalogue, you can expect songs that build momentum throughout with melodic & lyrical moments spanning from the intimate to the boisterous.
When announcing the track, Batsey offered the following words saying “it was written towards the end of 2020, when we were amidst some very weird times. I noticed that everyone’s outlook on all of these strange circumstances varied quite considerably. To the point I found looking at the news or my social media wasn’t doing me any favours mentally. So I took a break from all that for nearly a year and set my sights on writing some badass tunes instead”.
