Belfast metalcore youngsters Dream Awake proudly released their latest single ‘Summit’ last week, with a terrific video to accompany it. The song itself, whilst being fairly standard metalcore, shows a huge improvement in both the band’s lyric writing and general cohesiveness; it’s musically tight and there’s a real sense of the sum of their parts finally melding together. The passionate and commanding vocals – both clean and scream – are particularly deserving of praise.

As you can see, the band have really gone ‘all out’ with their debut video, filming in the gorgeous Glenveagh National Park in County Donegal and utilising the services of Empty Horoscope Media who have produced a real gem, soaring and emotive, beautifully capturing the beauty of the landscape.
With everything appearing to click into place for Dream Awake, with new music on the horizon and a mainland UK tour coming up, it’s onwards and upwards for this young band. Best of luck, lads.
