Last year Hex Hue teamed up with Arvo Party to release her first new single since 2019’s ‘Numbers’. The result was the uplifting single ‘Anyway‘, now joined by a new music video for the track.
‘Anyway’ is peak Hex Hue, a big pop song on self confidence that looks to embolden, and a track that combines the musical talents of two of the busiest people in Northern Irish music, Katie Richardson aka Hex Hue and Herb Magee aka Arvo Party. Written in a day by the two artists, Arvo Party’s electronic pop seeks to lift Richardson’s strong, bold vocals. It’s a big, synth pop inspired tune that celebrates the musical talents of the collaborators.
The video sees Richardson joined by dancers Ryan O’Neill and Paula O’Reilly, and filmed by Ciara McMullan. It’s the perfect partner to the single; a visual, kinetic likeness of the song’s catharsis.
‘Anyway’ is just the latest collaboration between Hex Hue and Arvo Party, with a previous remix of ‘Numbers’ plus a special performance for last year’s Sound of Belfast. Richardson’s past projects include the short lived but brilliant Pleasure Beach and Katie and the Carnival. With only a handful of releases under the name, we hope there’s more to come from the synth pop of Hex Hue.
