Belfast songwriter Rory Nellis hit us with his new single last month alongside news of a new album Kickstarter. ‘Strange Behaviour‘ sees Nellis raise the tempo with an indie rock track.
The last few releases from the songwriter have seen him explore a quieter side, with his most recent single ‘January’ a quiet ode to winter and the first month of the year. ‘Strange Behaviour’ is a different beast, one with the sound of an artist out to enjoy himself. From the oddball single cover to synths and ripping, fuzzed out guitar licks, ‘Strange Behaviour’, much like the recent Beauty Sleep single, sounds like an artist throwing himself into something fun. Replete with hooks and its driven, up-tempo guitar stabs, it takes influences from the likes of Weezer and Grandaddy. Following the single’s release, Nellis has shared a live video of the track alongside some familiar faces.
It’s a busy time for Rory Nellis at the moment, as he prepares for a live show in Belfast’s Deer’s Head next week (12th November). The other big news is another album on the way. Album number three can currently be backed via Nellis’ Kickstarter campaign with merch, music and more bundles available.
