Derry based indie-rock band Susie Blue never fails to both challenge and please fans. Most recently they looked to address issues of intolerance and hatred in society with latest single ‘People Like Us’ and its accompanying music video. Lead vocalist Susan Donaghy’s siren-like voice mesmerises the listener very quickly before leading into the stirring and inspiring chorus which may just be the next anthem to come from Northern Ireland.
Melancholic melodies and edgy guitar riffs will always be poignant to young fans. On ‘People Like Us’, the quartet express themselves impressively, making another clear step away from the singer-songwriter label they would have previously been branded by and creating their own bigger style of indie-rock.
‘People Like Us’ has already received plenty of praise and attention, and with some news promised soon it looks to be an exciting time for Susie Blue.
