The Late Twos – Get Down Before I Pull You Down

The Late Twos - Get Down Before I Pull You Down EP Cover

The Late Twos are back with their new EP – Get Down Before I Pull You Down, the follow up to their debut self titled EP – The Late Twos.

The Belfast lads bring a fresh indie pop sound to the local scene. Their fun easy tunes set these guys apart from their counterparts with their ‘couldn’t give a …’ lyrics and fantastic stage presence from front man Matty Legge with his effortless vocals and ‘cheeky lad’ persona.

First track on the new EP – ‘Never Mind’ is a The Late Two favourite. An energetic crowd pleaser at every gig it’s with catchy hooks, infectious drum beat and lyrics it’s hard not to get up and dance to this.

Title track –‘Get Down Before I Pull You Down’ is next up. With a slight comparison to early The Libertines this is full of blasting sing-along energy, guitars and great vocals. The Late Twos always have a ‘pull you in’ chorus and this does not disappoint.

The EP blends together great with ‘Lights Turn Green’ following. Full of hooks, melodies and feel good lyrics, the impressive temp changes make this a fantastic track and before you know it you are turning it up and joining in.

Closing track ‘Lana True’ is the best track on the EP. It is impossible not to sing along to this. With its melodic tones, the chorus is undoubtedly going to be a hands-in-the-air moment at their live gigs. This is a slightly different sound from the band which is great to see that they can keep their signature sound but head in a more anthem feel.

The Late Twos have brought infectious Indie Pop with this new release and are going strong. The lads have found their sound and are running with it. And it works. Super catchy choruses, simplistic sound and faultless vocals, a couple of listens to this and you’ll be humming it for days.
