We are barely two months into 2013 but it has been one stellar year for indie/rock fans. LPs from Everything Everything, Biffy Clyro and Villagers have made their way into our lives this January – with Foals to follow suit this month. What more could could we want?
Well it has gotten even better! The Courteeners returned this week with the release of their third studio album “Anna”. In conjunction with the release they have been playing acoustic shows in their home city of Manchester and are set to complete the mini tour by playing in Sheffield, Leeds, Liverpool and Preston.
In a recent interview frontman Liam Fray spoke out about their “alternative” tag.
“It feels like guitar music is on its way back. I want the record to do well and sell copies. I never started this band to be a member of the ‘alternative’ crowd. I want people to hear our music!”
The four-piece will be making their return to Belfast on Friday 22nd March at The Limelight. Tickets are still available
So who has taken the plunge and fallen back in love with some more Manchester indie this week?
