Peter McVeigh Launches New Kickstarter Campaign

Belfast’s Peter McVeigh is unleashing his considerable songwriting talents on us once again after the announcement of his second album, ‘The Wolf & Peter’. It follows on from last year’s ‘PM’, the singer-songwriter’s debut album. The debut received a great response, not least from ourselves. You can read our review on McVeigh’s stunning debut here.

Once again, McVeigh has turned his attentions to a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the album’s recording and release. For ‘The Wolf & Peter’ McVeigh is promising even more in the way of updates. While a few songs are already written, McVeigh has pledged updates on his songwriting exploits including co-writing sessions in Nashville and a bit closer to home.

One of the biggest things McVeigh is keen to stress is the addition of strings. The debut album was greatly enhanced by those soundscapes on tracks including his collaboration with local songwriter Ciara O’Neill, ‘Song For Winter’. More of the same on album number two would be welcomed with open arms from every listener. McVeigh also plans to once again team up with renowned mastering engineer Pete Meher, who has previously worked with the likes of U2, Katy Perry and The Killers. McVeigh will also be hoping some of the funding will allow for some gorgeous videos for the tracks, similar to ‘Song For Winter’ below.

The full list of rewards on offer can be found on the Kickstarter page but includes a range of album T shirts, bundles including his previous releases, prints and signed scores. The more elaborate rewards include house concerts, skype lessons and tutorials and plenty of bundles. Digital downloads are available along with vinyl, but it’s the low price of £6 for CD copies that certainly caught our eye.

Full details on Peter McVeigh’s Kickstart campaign is available at the link below, or check out the video to hear McVeigh discuss his plans for album number two.
