Northern Irish band, Sethway, will play a ‘fundraiser’ show tonight in aid of their very exciting departure to play the A&R Worldwide industry music showcase, Musexpo, in May 2013 – which is taking place on Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles. This event has been instrumental in breaking the likes of Katy Perry, Jessie J, LMFAO and One Night Only, and the band has the distinction of being the first ever NI band invited to play the event.
We spoke to mikey from the band, and asked him how this amazing opportunity came to be;
‘We got this opportunity when our manager Philip Simpson forwarded our music to Sat Bisla from A&R Worldwide, he saw potential in our music and invited us to play at the event. Overall, we are really excited and feel privileged to play at the event but nervous because of the extent of the opportunity and what it may mean for the band and the music scene in Northern Ireland.’
And what the ultimate outcome would be from the event;
‘The outcome can be anything from a record deal, sync deal ( Tv / movie / game deal ) or entertainment deal to nothing at all. But we feel we are good enough and committed enough to get something out of it. Regardless of the outcome we are extremely proud to be asked to play at the event, its a great honour to play on the same stage as those who were previously mentioned. We want to build on this opportunity and continue to make music, we have both new music and videos coming out soon.’
