Sick Records will be celebrating their 1st birthday with a free in-store shindig this Saturday 7th March.
Some of our best local artists will feature at the gig from 2:00pm at the North Street shop. Featured artists include Robyn G. Shiels, Bloomer White, Thee Penny Dreadfuls & Fabric. Between each act, there will be DJ sets from Chris Hanna and Jamie Nelson. As ONEKNWN, Chris Hanna’s beats are vibrant and soulful. Jamie Nelson is one of the best DJs on the local scene.
Benny and Chris from Thee Penny Dreadfuls will play their own brand of Garage, Psych-Punk. Raw and Noisy. For fans of MC5, Stooges and The Chocolate Watch Band.
Bloomer White is the new project from Belfast producer Gary Kelly, who is releasing his debut EP on Belfast-based label Champion Sound Music. Live Space Jazz with a bit of P Funk. For fans of Floating Points & Joy Orbison. Also featuring is Derry two-piece are Fabric – a fresh to the music scene bass and drums combo, combining the elements of garage, punk, grunge and progressive rock with a swirling mass of noise and cymbal washes.
Robyn G. Shiels will be there to play material from the award-winning, N.I. “Album Of The Year”, Blood Of The Innocents as well as debuting new material for an up-coming EP, ahead of embarking on a tour with Duke Special.
This is Sick Records second in-store of 2015 and they plan a many more throughout the rest of the year, including of course in World Record Store Day on Saturday, 18th April 2015 which last year featured the mighty Little Matador.
