Allez who? This hugely unknown musical group from Belfast and L’derry are dabbling in the dark arts of electronica and have come up with ‘Koliada Drift’ due for release in March.
Sounding more like an interlude than a single, it has a dark ethereal feel to it. Amidst the ghostly echoes and transient otherworldly sound effects that sound like you’re 2 miles deep in the abyss enraptured by whale song, there is a perpetual acoustic undercurrent to contrast the fleeting, delicate vocals.
Not out of place as a soundtrack to ‘2001 – A Space Odyssey’ this stray from the norm is a refreshing change for this duo. However you can’t help but crave a little more meatiness from this 5 minute track…. Like a rather nice Caesar Salad without the chicken.
