PORTS have come a long way since their past life as Little Bear. The Derry band have continuously impressed with their live shows (including performances in Canada and Brighton) and have regularly been touted as the next big thing from Northern Ireland. The realisation of that tag has been a long time coming but May 27th could be the final step with the release of their long awaited debut album, ‘The Devil is a Songbird‘.
The band have just released a moody new video for the title track of the album. ‘The Devil is a Songbird’ has them at their melodic best, with swells of gorgeous strings amidst the band’s slow moving instrumentals, underlining Steven McCool’s emotive vocals. The video, directed by the band and Paul Martin Brown is a fitting visual pleasure in black and white.
PORTS will be kicking off their album tour this week with launch shows in Portstewart, Belfast and Derry before a couple of Irish dates.
