‘My My Honey’ sees Belfast singer-songwriter Thom Southern blend dreamy indie goodness with a fresh folky feel.
The new track follows the release of his self-produced album ‘Plaza’ via Frictionless Music earlier this year. Set against vintage 90s guitar, with sun-bursting vocals straight out of a shoegaze record, “I feel a cinematic way for you”, his flair for melodic alternative anthems shines through.
There’s even Irish Uillean pipes played by Aaron O’Hagan which bring a hazy trad element into the mix. All this creates a colourful undertone that alternates against the glimmers of Elliot Smith, Teenage Fanclub, Smashing Pumpkins and Lush.
Set to headline Belfast and Dublin shows this October, Thom Southern is certainly making waves in the Irish music scene and deservedly so.
