Buckcherry with support from Screaming Eagles
Wednesday 12th October 2016 – Limelight 2, Belfast
So now we are in the Autumn season where the leaves fall from the trees and there is a high demand for hot chocolates and of course people uttering an extremely bad word beginning with c and no, I am not talking about THAT word, I am talking about “Christmas.” Even though people are getting into this frame of mind, those who have the common sense not to think about it are down in the Belfast’s Limelight 2 to catch L.A. rockers Buckcherry for their epic return to Northern Ireland courtesy of James Loveday from The Distortion Project.
Now it’s not too often a venue is packed to the rafters for a support band but this night was different because the support act was none other than the Screaming Eagles, the finest musical act to come out Banbridge, Northern Ireland. With the amps cranked to 11 and the traditional bottle of Buckfast in lead vocalist Chris Fry’s hand, the “Screagles” ploughed their way through an AC/DC inspired musical set where it almost seemed like they were the headline act and not Buckcherry.

As the dust settled from an outstanding support it was time for the sleaze rock to begin as Buckcherry took over the Limelight stage (before taking selfies with the crowd while getting ready) with a, for now, fully clothed Josh Todd bounding onto the stage to join the rest of the band and the sold out venue for the party of a life time. Personally, even though Josh Todd is not the greatest singer on the planet the party of five put on a high octane performance in which they performed their hit album 15 in it’s entirety for it’s 10th anniversary of release including tunes from ‘Next 2 You’ to the classic ‘Crazy Bitch’. A cover of Icona Pop’s song ‘Say F*** It’ brought the energetic and sweaty night to a close as the heavily tattooed five piece carried on to the next party of their tour.
