Former Kickstart winners, Strabane based Those Ghosts return with their debut EP. Opener ‘Your Violins Are In A Different Key’ features some sublime guitar work, whilst being held together but solid drumming, a strong bass sound and clean vocals.
The pounding repetitive drums and almost U2 guitar sound of ‘Not Waiting For The End’ builds to an epic finale, featuring some great vocals. But highlight of the EP is ‘Bullets’, with Gerard Brolly’s exceptional guitar work once again leading the charge. This is complimented by the individual talents of the rhythm section before the biggest riff on the whole EP makes a quick appearance to floor the listener for about four seconds. ‘We’ll Take Time’ slows the pace down, before ‘Home’ provides a stunning finale to a very assured release.
The EP has a sound, a songwriting ability and production fit to fill a stadium. Make sure to catch the guys next time they’re playing a venue near you.
