Based on the North Coast, the Atlantic Sessions have been running for a good number of years now with repeated success. The festival will return again later this year, but before that they have just announced Midsummer Sessions.
Midsummer Sessions will see over 30 Northern Irish musicians playing at various venues around Portstewart between Thursday 6th – Sunday 9th July. The event will coincide with this year’s Irish Open. Every event is completely free with the venues including cafes, bars, restaurants and even an ice cream shop. Artists including Joshua Burnside, Larks and No Oil Paintings will play for an hour, on the hour.
The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Joan Baird OBE, said: “Following the recent success of Atlantic Sessions at the Northern Ireland Tourism Awards I am delighted to welcome Midsummer Sessions to Portstewart. With huge numbers of visitors expected in the area for the Irish Open it provides an exciting showcase for our home grown musical talent. World class golf coupled with this fantastic line-up of entertainment means Portstewart is tee-ing up for a memorable start to the summer season.”
