Local promoters, Moving On Music have been around since 1995 and have consistently put on a range of jazz, folk, roots, traditional, classical and “other” music events around Northern Ireland. One of their success stories is the highly regarded Brilliant Corners jazz festival which returns for its fifth year in 2017.
The 2017 programme pays homage to Charles Mingus with I Am Three, gets experimental with Sirene 1009 and FAINT+, showcases local talent with Hands, Organ Failure, and Joseph Leighton, goes full prog-rock with Belgian guitar trio Dans Dans and Norwegian guitar-bass-drum blasters Hedvig Mollestad Trio, before going out with a bang courtesy of Robocobra Quartet and Strobes.
The festival runs from Tuesday 7th until Saturday 11th March 2017. Tickets for all the events are available direct from the Brilliant Corners Belfast website. A special mention to their ticket that lets you into all 6 gigs for a meagre £40.
