After three months of listening to and debating over one hundred entries, the four finalists of the 2017 edition of our Kickstart competition took to the Oh Yeah Centre stage to showcase their talent. A attentive room listened intently to incredible sets from Claire Louise, Glass Wings, Sam Wickens and BRØR before our panel of judges went off to debate who should walk away as the winner of this year’s competition.
After lengthy debate, it was agreed that the very worthy winners of Kickstart 2017 would be BRØR. The two brothers have a dynamic live set with their driving rock sound enriched by dual harmonies. We are very much looking forward to working with Ben and Johno to make the most of the prizes over the coming months. In the meantime, have a listen to their first single, ‘Something New’.
At this point we would like to thank Help Musicians NI for their support this year. Without their help we couldn’t have hosted a showcase this year and their help and guidance throughout the process has been invaluable. The organisation are trying hard to make a difference to the lives of musicians from Northern Ireland and deserve your support.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who sponsored the competition this year. There would be no competition if these organisations didn’t volunteer their time and services as prizes. We highly recommend these organisations should you require their services:
