The Wood Burning Savages are just showing off now. We’ve heard stripped back acoustic folk and peppy synth-disco emanate from their camp in recent times, but for Record Store Day the Maiden City quartet have decided to dish up a delightful slice of lo-fi indie rock. What can’t they do?
As if a fresh sounding new track wasn’t enough, the song itself isn’t even a week old! ‘Been Anywhere Lately’ was conceived and released in similarly quick fashion to ‘Flu Season’. Written on Tuesday past, recorded the next day, mixed on Thursday and then released to the world today. These boys just don’t stop.
‘Been Anywhere Lately’ is available for free download right now from their soundcloud (along with a few other hidden gems).
The band are also set to play a special charity Record Store Day event at the Guildhall, Derry this evening along with The Bonnevilles, Little Hooks, Silences. For more information click one of our lucky dip of links – Link 1 | Link 2 | Link 3
