Sound Diplomacy, the global expert in writing music strategies for cities, is working with Belfast City Council to create a comprehensive Music Strategy and Recovery Plan for the City of Belfast.
Belfast is a city with a rich and diverse musical history, and it has recently made a commitment to music, through the designation of the City of Music Steering Group, and a new cultural strategy demonstrating and recognising the value of culture and music to this city. This work with Sound Diplomacy will directly feed into the recovery of the music sector post COVID-19. Belfast knows that music builds communities up, connects them, fosters equity and promotes fairness. But to ensure that music delivers for all members of the community, a robust set of evidence and data, and a bespoke and actionable strategy with an associated recovery plan are required to guide policy making, outreach and planning into the future.
Sound Diplomacy have committed to delivering this through a wide-ranging, important scope of work for Belfast, including cultural infrastructure mapping and economic impact assessment. They have launched a survey to all musicians based in Northern Ireland, music businesses, all relevant stakeholders to the music ecosystem and the general public.
If you have any interest or want to improve the music scene in Belfast, please take ten minutes to complete the survey. It will hopefully help shape a more positive future for the city. To complete the survey please visit https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/6159089/Belfast-Survey
