Screaming Eagles are seriously hot property right now, having just won through to the Hard Rock Hell Festival in Wales, by winning the Glasgow heat of the prestigious Highway to Hell battle of the bands. This is just reward for the band’s brilliant live performances but, excellent as the four piece are live, Screaming Eagles is not just a great live band.
‘Pheonix From The Flames’, its debut album, is a mighty fine debut album, showcasing some fine writing and performances. It’s no lie that S.E. is heavily influenced by the Classic Rock of AC/DC (especially) and Bad Company among others, but that’s no crime especially when the four guys can put together songs as good as ‘Fight The Fire’, ‘In My Blood’, and this, the band’s first official video – ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Soul’.
One listen will tell you all you need to know about Screaming Eagles. The rhythm section of Kyle Cruikshank and Ryan Lily is tight as a monkey’s ear, guitarist Adrian McAleenan has riffs in spades and in Chris Fry the band has an absolutely top notch vocalist. That’s an awful lot to build on for the future, but for now we have this wonderfully tongue-in-cheek video.
‘Nuff said. Enjoy!
