Watch: Peter J McCauley – Where We Belong

As RAMS’ Pocket Radio, Peter J McCauley released a stunning debut album, toured throughout the USA, Canada, Europe, UK & Ireland and made appearances at the likes of Glastonbury, SXSW and Electric Picnic so we were all surprised when he disappeared off the radar.  In 2016 he resurfaced with the an EP under his own name which Peter himself acknowledges wasn’t promoted or discovered as widely as it should’ve been.

A further hiatus followed where he spent time working and writing music with multiple other artists but we are pleased to see his return with the rather special new single, ‘Where We Belong‘.  Thanks to McCauley’s prowess on piano, the minimalistic approach to production falls just on the right side of sparse and leaves us with the opportunity to reflect on the message conveyed by the lyrics.

Not knowing where we are going is something I’m sure most of us consider on something of a regular basis so we can relate to McCauley’s self imposed absence to find himself. While he may have taken his time to get here, we think Peter J McCauley is on the right path.
