Lurgan native Stevie Scullion is forever busy. When not making music under his Malojian moniker, he is running independent label Style Records. His latest endeavour is the Style Weekender, a series of events in the American Bar in Belfast, you guessed it, over the course of one weekend.

Taking place over 17th – 19th March, he will be bringing together a series of musicians for some very special shows. All of which will be recorded and filmed, presumably to be shared at a later date.

Colm Laverty in Conversation: Videographer and film-maker Colm Laverty talks to Northern Ireland Screen’s Bronagh McAtasney about working with the Digital Film Archive. The event includes some of Colm’s favourite films and a collection of the beautiful work he has produced with artists such as Malojian and Documenta.

Christopher Coll & The Hideaways: Christopher Coll is a musician, writer, illustrator, animator…He has recorded over 30 albums of music in various styles & also records with his band Lost In The Fog. He has animated music videos for a number of musicians as well as for his own music. For the past few years Christopher has illustrated a weekly newspaper column called Notes From The Boneyard, with Mark from The Lost Brothers.

Malojian & Brett Logue: The organiser takes centre stage on this one. Over the last few years, Stevie Scullion has released several stunning solo albums, along the way collaborating with musical legends including Steve Albini (Nirvana, The Pixies…), Joey Waronker (Beck, R.E.M…), Gerry Love (Teenage Fanclub, Lightships), Jon Thorne (Yorkston/Thorne/Khan, Lamb) and more… But it’s his own voice and songs that sets him apart from the crowd.

In The Round with Andy McGibbon, Mandy Bingham & Matt McGinn: Sure to be a classic with three of Northern Ireland’s finest song writers taking residence upstairs delivering songs and conversations.

Tickets for all four events are selling fast and as the capacity for the American Bar is small, we’d recommend that you don’t hang about if any of these events are of interest. Tickets can be purchased online – The Style Weekender Tickets.
