One band starting 2016 off on the front foot is The Geneva Experiment. The alt rockers locked themselves away in the well regarded confines of Manor Park studio to craft a real gem of a single.
Perhaps as a result of the changed line-up (the addition of Robert Arbuckle on bass) the new single, ‘Redroom’ has a hazy shoegaze feel that contrasts their earlier material. The early rawness has been replaced by a polished yet still edgy sound that falls on the musical spectrum somewhere between Deftones and the Joy Formidable, with tempo and dynamic changes throughout.
“Redroom was recorded at Manor Park Studios and is the first single off our upcoming E.P ”Birthmarks” to be released in March. The inspiration behind Redroom is the vulnerability of men and women on nights out, and we are trying to raise awareness, that people can be easily taken advantage of.
The lyrics are designed to convey the physiological point of view of the perpetrator, and the melodic tone of the song reflects their state of mind when they carry out their misdeed. Overall the message of the song is to stay safe, and be careful.”
