Beauty Sleep

Comprising producer/songwriters Cheylene Murphy and Ryan McGroarty, Beauty Sleep serve up a maximalist blend of bewitching synth-pop and guitar-driven indie rock that’s sure to set your heart racing. Their lavish soundscapes and dizzying songwriting have drawn comparisons to New Order, St Vincent and Japanese Breakfast, so far achieving over a million streams and performing at festivals including SXSW, Electric Picnic and Other Voices.

To date, the band has seen sustained buzz from tastemakers in Ireland and the UK. including Hot Press, CLASH, The Belfast Telegraph, Irish News, Nialler9, The Last Mixed Tape, Get In Her Ears, and many others, plus radio plays from Phil Taggart (BBC R1), Amy Lamé (BBC 6music), Stephen McCauley (BBC Radio Ulster/BBC Radio Foyle), and Dan Hegarty (RTE2fm).

Recorded in their own custom-built studio during the daytime with coffees, focus, energy and time—”rather than trying to record 3 songs between 8pm and 5am when we could access the studio for free, which is what we did with the first album”— The Whole Damn Cake is a triumph of maximalism in every which way.

Touzai

Touzai (Rhymes with “oh-aye”) is the artistic moniker of Ethan Hollan, an Asian-Irish artist blending 90s alt-rock, shoegaze, and heartfelt lyricism into a sound both nostalgic and forward-thinking.

Touzai grew into a full band in 2023, with Dan Monaghan on bass and Danny Havern on drums. His music explores themes of identity, belonging, and the search for meaning in an ever-changing world. Drawing from his Hong Kong-Irish heritage, he writes to inspire underrepresented voices.

Robyn Maddox

“Delving into the world of character songwriting in 2023 with the release of her debut EP, ‘Midnight-15’, Belfast-based artist Robyn Maddox’s songwriting is rooted in theatrics and self-deprecation. Working in collaboration with producer/drummer Darragh Tibbs, Maddox’s writing marries raw, introspective lyrics with surreal stories, painting fantastical worlds that range from smoky, shimmery casinos to phantasmagoric encounters with her own conscience.

After an almost two year hiatus, Maddox debuted her sonic shift into a moodier, indie-pop territory with ‘Margot’, a body horror noir thriller track that showcases a darker sound and subject matter, and dynamic new full band. Now joined by the musical forces of session players David Dalzell (bass) and Marcus Porte (guitar), Maddox is embracing the modern vintage aesthetic that permeates her writing, production and the accompanying imagery. Inspired by a lifelong love of visual art forms such as film and fashion, Maddox draws from the gloomy chiaroscuro of French film noir and glamourised brutality of Hollywood mobster movies to create the backdrop for her dissection of extreme emotions.
