Preview: Monsters of Rot VI

Monsters of Rot VI is set to crawl ‘out of the bog’ again on Saturday in Letterbreen, Co. Fermanagh. Presented by the Halfway Inn and hosted by Henchman in association with Apex Music Co, Irish Metal Archive and Gigging NI, this year’s lineup is more varied than ever before, with ska, hardcore and alt rock joining the ever present metal bands on the bill.

Which bands, you ask? Here they are:

Thornafire: extreme death metal, Chile (headliners)

Drakonis: blackened death metal, Northern Ireland

Oncology: death metal, Northern Ireland

War Iron: doom/sludge metal, Northern Ireland

Unkindness of Ravens: dark post rock, Ireland

Indominus: melodic death metal, Northern Ireland

Subordinate: hardcore, Northern Ireland

Sense Deficiency: ska punk, Northern Ireland

Beware of You: alternative pop-punk, Northern Ireland

The Divils: ska punk, Ireland

Hell of Achilles: metalcore, Northern Ireland

Black Chapels: alt rock, Northern Ireland


The all day festival kicks off at noon this Saturday (August 13th) at the Halfway Inn, Enniskillen BT74 9FH. Tickets cost just £15 which includes a night’s camping, with the venue opening at 1pm and running until 1am on Sunday. This really is a great festival with a relaxed and happy atmosphere, so head on over to Letterbreen and headbang/mosh/pogo your little socks off!
