Belfast born artist Winnie Ama is well and truly on a roll. Releasing her third installment of 2022, ‘Don’t Worry’ sets an uplifting tone taking us deeper into a journey of self discovery and growth.
‘Don’t Worry’ is a celebration of living in the moment, following a journey of falling in love and the beauty of retrospect. Paving the way for a highly anticipated EP project in 2023, this track encompasses Ama’s trademark sound marrying elements of neo-soul, jazz and electro pop. With hints of cultural icons Ms Lauren Hill, Aretha Franklin and Ella Fitzgerald being felt throughout, it’s no wonder Ama cites these artists as a major influence.
Having spent the Summer months gracing the UK and Ireland festival circuit (Electric Picnic, Latitude & Wireless), Ama’s live credits now include supporting the legendary Macy Gray in concert and headlining the BBC Introducing stage at Wireless. Additionally Ama has also represented Northern Ireland abroad in Paris for the Queen’s jubilee celebrations this Summer.
Speaking about the track, Winnie explains: ”Don’t Worry is about following your dreams, living in the moment and embracing every part of the joy in front of you without reservation.”
This track is produced by Simon Le Saint, a man known for his electrifying electropop (when he’s not touring with Stromae). Le Saint harnesses Winnie’s elegant vocal and songwriting with the ambient grace it deserves, allowing both to shine. Artwork is by Saul Duffin with photography by Chris McKenna.
