Dark Tropics may have only come into being a little over a year ago but those first introduction found a big audience, including a fight for space at their Output performance last February. They’ve now followed up on those well received singles and returned with third single ‘Keep Searching’.
Like their first two releases, ‘Keep Searching’ is carried on a wave of smooth production, with the combination of Rio and Gerard bringing forth what may be their strongest single to date. 70s soul-pop strings and piano glide as Rio’s vocals soar into a very soulful and worthy hook that hits all the right notes. It’s a track that’s shows the dark with the light but sonically at least ‘Keep Searching’ is resplendent with romance and a hopeful tone. The single is accompanied by a cinematic new video from director Thomas McKeown, all smoky soft light, choreography and the drama of a relationship that may have seen better days.
‘Keep Searching’ strikes with the hope and nostalgia of a retro soul tune, a track where the duo’s talents are gorgeously on show.
