Chordblossom join the Oh Yeah Relay Team

Some of you may or may not know that the Oh Yeah Music Centre in Belfast is actually a charity. Their mission statement is: “Open Doors To Music Potential” and they aim to be accessible to everyone. At their premises they provide affordable rehearsal space and a venue that is amendable to under 18s. As well as hosting a permanent music exhibition, a café space, a privately run recording studio, a song writing room, various small office units for start-up businesses and areas where workshops, meetings and seminars are held. However all these services cost money, so that is where you come in.

The Oh Yeah team have done so much for the local music scene that it is only right that we all give a little something back. To that end myself (Robert Brown), Dave Burns & Rebecca Armstrong have all volunteered to take part in one of their relay teams taking part in the Belfast Marathon on Monday 5th May 2014.

Our Rebecca, who incidentally is the brain’s behind the Oh Yeah entering the relay event had this to say:  “We are delighted to have such support from those willing to train and fund raise for us so we can keep the work of Oh Yeah going.” While Oh Yeah CEO Stuart Bailie also highlighted how much it means to the centre and the local music scene, “This is so encouraging for Oh Yeah. A bunch of dedicated supporters, literally going the distance for the cause. It gives us heart and it will raise funds to help us deliver more for the musical community.”
