Open House Festival have long been a champion of culture and arts in Bangor and beyond and after several years of hard work are now ready to open their own venue, the Court House.
Located on the seafront, right in the heart of the newly designated City of Bangor, Open House hope that the Court House will become the beating heart of Bangor’s burgeoning music and arts scene.
They aim to deliver a year-round programme of quality and cutting edge live music, comedy, film, theatre, spoken word, food & drink events, featuring international artists alongside local creatives, and celebrating Bangor’s rich musical heritage.
The first batch of events are now on sale and they are off to a great start. Opening night will see two of the hottest talents in our music scene today in Lemonade Shoelace and the Florentinas share the bill on what will be a night of celebration.. If electronic music is more your speed, you can find two of Bangor’s finest DJs in Gilmore and and JBL lining up together the next night. While you’d be hard pushed to look past the soulful Dana Masters either.
As well as the brilliant programme of live music, the venue will also be holding screenings of classic films like One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Far From The Madding Crowd, Withnail & I and the feel good inducing Good Vibrations.
You can find out more about Open House’s journey to opening this unique venue as well as finding the full programme of events and of course the option to buy tickets over on The Court House website. It is fantastic to see another independent venue open in Northern Ireland and given the track record of Open House, we all have plenty to look forward to.
