Sunglasses After Dark is back this weekend with its dark, wild n’ greasy sounds at the Menagerie.
Carving a nice little niche into the Belfast scene SGAD is a thank-whatever-deity-its-Sunday-the-next-day kinda club night, with it’s 50’s, 60’s greasy tunage, with some of the best local bands. This Saturday 14th March, the stage is set for Belfast/Dublin based lo-fi Garage band CRUISING. Formed from members of Girls Names, September Girls, Logikparty and the Sea Pinks, these guys bring on a contemporary take on garage rock ‘n’ roll that is gloriously grimy, unpredictable and atmospheric.
Supporting them on the night will be Los Bloody Rackets, the guitar drenched Chicano Garage influenced collection of musicians from various garage and surf bands hailing from Spain, Portugal and of course Costa Del Bangor. The SGAD DJ’s will also be there doing their thing.
“And as always Sunglasses after Dark DJ’s spinning the rarest and wildest records from the roots of all of this rock ‘n’ roll stuff that promises no familiarity with “your grannies version of the 50’s”
Doors are at 9pm. £5.00 on the door.
