Debuted last summer then again in Winter, Focal Festival is returning again this month for another smattering of local music. Based just off Botanic in Belfast’s Crescent Gardens, the line up is the festival’s best so far and as good as any on offer with events running from 30th August – 1st September.
The three day is situated just outside Belfast’s city centre and is a rare open air festival running within the capital. Beginning on Thursday night, the festival kicks off with an outdoor screening of cult, melodramatic classic The Room. A drinking game on entry and costumes encouraged are followed by a DJ set and live tunes by Nine Inch Nialls. Friday sees a stellar live music line-up headlined by one of Northern Ireland’s finest and most popular groups, the Emerald Armada, with a supporting cast including Larks and Beauty Sleep.
The main action takes place on Saturday 1st September, with a big line-up bolstered by two live podcasts in Mad Notions and the Irish History podcast and yoga by Flo Yoga. The music bill is topped by General Fiasco and Jealous Birds while the likes of Brash Isaac, Lucy Bell and Rebekah Fitch will also perform.
Multiple tickets options are available with full weekend passes for £30, individual day tickets starting at £10 and even yoga or podcast only offers. For more information on the festival and tickets, follow the link below.
