Generator NI have been touring round the province holding special panel events designed to help invigorate the local music scene. For their fifth iteration the event finally reaches Belfast but has a distinct focus on Electronic and Dance music.
Speakers on the panel include:
▶ Adam Carter – Exclusive Promo
Exclusive Promo is a UK based specialist Digital Tastemaker Promo company. Exclusive Promo handle the promotion campaigns for a number of the world’s leading Dance imprints including Erol Alkan’s Phantasy Sounds, Systematic and Sci & Tec.
▶Rob Booth – Fabric/Houndstooth
Instrumental in uncovering the talents of James Blake, Mount Kimbie, FaltyDL, Hessle Audio, Scuba and Akkord via his influential Electronic Explorations podcast series, Rob is currently working as the primary A&R for fabric’s artist led record label, Houndstooth.
▶ Charles Fitzgerald – [PIAS]
Charles Fitzgerald is currently the Head of Mobile for the [PIAS] Entertainment Group working with artists such as Tiesto & Dizzee Rascal. As a part of [PIAS] Media, his department also consults for EMI, SONY and Universal creating recent mobile campaigns/apps for the likes of Tinie Tempah.
▶ Jules Parker – Polaroid Management
Polaroid Management represents artists and songwriters working with Parlophone, Universal, EMI, Island, 3Beat, Spinnin’, Axtone, PRMD etc. Songs released so far have charted and had radio play in the USA, UK, Australia, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, Romania and Brazil.
▶ Simon Pursehouse – Sentric
Simon currently holds the position of Director of Music Services, where he placed Sentric’s catalogue adverts, movies, games, promos worldwide & TV shows including Grey’s Anatomy, Made in Chelsea, Sony Playstation, Reebok, XBox & Parenthood amongst others.
▶ Marc Roberts – 691 Music
Marc heads up 691 Music which specializes in talent procurement, artist management, tour management and logistics, as well as being responsible for the line-up for alpine behemoth Snowbombing since 2007, and Newcastle’s Elektriqa and Module club brands.
▶ Alan Simms – Shine
Shine was started by Alan in 1995 as a hugely successful club night in Queen’s Students Union. The club night has now expanded to Shine Productions, who book events from Belsonic to the Stiff Kitten and The Limelight.
▶ Gary Curran – Japanese Popstars
Gary is one half of the extraordinary creative duo Japanese Popstars. After flirting with major label success via an album deal with Virgin/EMI Records and getting to work with their heroes including The Cure’s Robert Smith, The Japanese Popstars have returned to the underground with the sound that first brought them so much attention.
▶ Paul Hamill – Psycatron
As one half of electronic duo Psycatron, Paul has played shows in Europe, the USA and Australia, remixed artists including Simian Mobile Disco, and released tracks on some of the most credible global dance labels around.
