The ever growing Girls Rock School NI that offers Rock lessons are hosting an Easter Rock camp for girls aged between 11 and 14. The camp will run between Wednesday 4th and Friday 6th April in the Oh Yeah Music Centre.
The cost to take part is £90 and includes instrument use, workshops, materials and a graduation pack. Over the course of the three days, the girls will have the opportunity to learn the basics of an instrument, play in a band and write and perform a song. The best part is that attendees don’t need to have had any previous experience playing an instrument.
Over the course of the camp they will take part in workshops (from zine-making to making band t-shirts!) as well as lunch time performances and Q&A sessions with inspiring female musicians including Orlaith & Mollie and Cherym. The camp ends with a final showcase concert where they will perform with their bands in a live gig at the Oh Yeah Music Centre.
