Runabay are back with their new single ‘Moon Turns Blue.’
The indie/folk mix band debut single “Sequences” came out last year and the lads have been working hard with slots in big Belfast events such as Bel Nash Festival, gigs in Limelight, Empire Music hall and of course Chordblossom’s very own Kickstart back in 2014.
Runabay are : John McManus – Vocals/Guitar, Gary Graham – Guitar/Vocals, Gerard McHugh – Vocals/Percussion, Declan McCartan – Cello/Vocals, George Sloan – Drums/Vocals – Bass/Vocals and are easily the best thing to come out of the North Coast since the Giants Causeway and Yellow Man.
‘Moon Turns Blue’ is a melodic piece of beauty. Lead singer, John McManus distinct ,crisp, vocals are superbly backed by a harmonic mix of backing vocals and instrumental delight with a combination of guitars, percussion and cello, which is such an eclectic treat to the ears. The variation of tone and harmony that Runabay bring to the fold is new, intriguing and not often heard. For a relatively new band they are most definitely making their mark.
